Drinking while driving in New York State has some serious consequences. If you are caught drinking and driving you could under certain circumstances spend up to one year in jail. The first offense isn’t as bad as the second. So hopefully people realize what they are doing and only make that mistake once. The maximum amount you could be fined for $1,000. The minimum amount you could be fined for is $500. Another thing that they can do to you is revoke your license for 6 months. That is only for the first offense. 
I think that the first DWI offense should be more intense.
ReplyDeleteI agree. If the first offense was more intense then more people would get the hint not to do it again. Hopefully people that haven't gotten a DWI see what people have done to other people and themselves and not go down the same path they have.
